I was listening to Diane's show driving Monday to the bank. They were discussing the federal law (The Clean Energy Act of 2007) that attempts to cut our energy consumption. Soon some incandescent bulbs will be prohibited from sale. California began this process phase-out in January if I remember, Californians correct me if I'm wrong. The rest of the country begins next year.

Energy efficient light bulbs: are you a convert, holdout, or agnostic?

Convert to CFL (when I say CFL around here everyONE thinks Central Florida :smileysurprised:not compact fluorescent lights)

My holdouts are in the microwave, oven and frig. Wonder how CFL impacts my outside spotlights?

Holdout mostly because of the need to dispose of CFLs in toxic waste areas (is that good for the environment?!) and require special cleanup - we can't even get recycling in our area, much less deal with this issue, nor am I convinced your average Joe will do proper cleanup.
