What happened to our cl-elle?

I realize I haven't been active on the board, but I generally check posts since I still feel connected to many of you after all these years.  I haven't seen a post from elle in a long time.  Does anyone know if she is still the cl here?  Is she OK?

Something that always got the board going in the past was a "roll call" - introductions, where you're from, where your CS's are going to school, etc.  If you can post - how about it?

And please ignore my half-baked siggy - I can't add to it and can't get rid of it!  Makes me crazy!

Since we're doing roll call, I am Tracy, cl over on the 10-14 board, but I am new to the College Students board, my oldest just graduated this past Friday and she is off to the University of Oregon in the fall as an art history major.  She's also doing the Acrobatic and Tumbling team while there.  I also have a step son who is 14, and two little ones, Emma just finished up kindergarten and Madison will be 4 in 2 weeks.

I'm Janet in KY.  DS is 21 and finished his Associates Degree in Engineering Technology is December.  He is seeking that elusive full-time job.  DD is 19 and completed her freshman year at Northern Kentucky University.  She is majoring in Biology (pre-vet).

I'm elc in SoCal, the old-timers will recall that once upon a time I was co-cl here with Calmama. Then I didn't have a CS anymore...and now I do again, sort of, times two.

Ds (who turns 30 in a few months) is a PhD candidate in Toxicology at UC Berkeley. (He took 5 years off from school between getting his BS and starting grad school.) Last month he passed his Oral Qualifying Exams so he gets to continue being a grad student, and won't have to test again, just complete his research. He probably has 2 more years. No long summer break for him, research goes year round, but he will take a few long weekends plus 2 wks in August. So I guess I'm a POGS for a while!

Dd27 is also a CS. She attends Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC (its a SUNY campus) as a full time non-matriculated student, aiming for a degree in Apparel Design. She also works almost-full time as a waitress, so she's really enjoying being on summer break and not having school pressures.  This fall she will apply for admission in Fall 2014, if she doesn't get in I guess she will take her credits and try to go somewhere else....its kind of a complicated situation. She would really like to return to California, she's loves the NY summers but hates the winters.

So, I'm not a typical POCS anymore, but I do still lurk here sometimes; this board was "home" for so many years its hard to just give it up!

Hi Tracy - my younger dd started out at UO before transferring to the CA State University that Sharon's dd goes to. It is a beautiful campus and has some great programs, but it didn't turn out to be a good fit for my dd, who was a pre-journalism major. However, she loved Oregon so much she returned with her Portland-native then bf/now husband, and they now live in Portland. If you don't become a rabid Duck fan I will be VERY surprised - that football stadium is something else! :)

Thanks for the info!!  We grew up in Michigan and moved to Texas 8 years ago.  Her plan was always to go back to school in Michigan and be with family, but her cheer coach put her in touch with the Acrobatic and Tumbling coach at Oregon and they started recruiting her right away.  Once we visited the campus last October, she was sold hook line and sinker.  She loved the campus, the people, everything about it and there has been no looking back, except for me and the dollar signs! Wink  We are all football fans in general and I was definitely impressed at the game we went and saw while on campus.  She's really excited about it.  The girl who just signed recently with the team that she has been emailing and FBing back and forth with that looks like she will be her new roommate is from California.

Kelly here, chiming in a bit late.  I live in the northeast with DH, with whom I celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary on Sunday.  I work full-time at my own business and he's been a SAHD for 17 years after a 10-year career working with emotionally disturbed kids.

21yo DS is about to start his senior year at Skidmore, where he will graduate with a double major in Anthropology and English (Creative Writing) next spring.  18yo DD is about to graduate HS next week and will start at NYU in the fall as a freshman in Music Ed.  13yo DS is finishing 7th grade and will be switching to private school in the fall to better address his learning problems, ADD, and social/emotional development needs.
