I am not sure, is it possible to have the doctor write send a note in to be kept on file w/ the school nurse and a copy for the teacher as well?

We have no nurses at schools up here.

I dont know if I should have them written in her IEP or not.

In the school? No. No medical staff of any kind unless you require medical care such as flushing, tube feds etc. Then they bring in a nurse from CCAC to do those things and leave.

Hmm.It never even occured to me that I should request training for staff/teachers to put DS's KAFO's on. PT does come in on Wed to work with DS and his KAFOs are taken off.

Are you in Canada? I live in ON. I contacted CCAC the other day about OT,a nd now DS is on a 1 yr wait list :0( His fine motor skills are aweful.

I'm in Ontario also and we used CCAC for my daughters tube feeds.

KAFOs are probably something I would look into getting training for. We havent used them yet, but they seem like something that needs to be put on very correctly or it could cause injury (am I completely off base?)

Also, quick question, what socks do you use?
