Kinda sounds like an oxymoron doesn't it? :)

Can you please tell me how you went about getting specifically a dyslexia tutor? I know you say you lost this service but how did you get it in the first place. I love my son's teachers and I absolutely believe that they are trying to do right by him but I feel like we are all missing the boat. I want his issues addressed specifically by someone who is trained in "teaching strategies" for dyslexia.

I found out that the district had one b/c I know a counselor in our district. So when he was diagnosed w/ Dyslexia I asked at the next IEP meeting...does our district have a dyslexia tutor? (I knew the answer but wanted to see if they would tell me the truth) when they said yes I said 'ok can we set that up for him then?' and they said sure and then it was done. I had him tested at the Scottish Rite so that was the paper work I had with his diagnoses on it that got me in the door for the tutor.
