Have you ever considered having your child repeat a grade?

I have never considered it for Nathaniel but my BIL's little cousin who is 9 repeated 2nd grade. She will move to 3rd grade this year. It was very beneficial to her. She has really blossomed this year in her 2nd year of 2nd grade. Her skills are much better and so is her self esteem.
