So livid right now

Was having my nightly recap with Liam on his day and today was his big state test. The one I have been hearing about since kindy the one they felt he can never complete without accommodations which started the whole IEP ball rolling (do think if not for this test heceould have flown under radar for awhile) biggest thing OT wanted was to ensure he could use the computer when taking the written. Well guess what the special Ed teacher proctoring for the accommodation kids had the computer set for something else so he couldn't use it.

Now there may have been confusion. His test accommodation was omitted from his original IEP we added amendment today. It was noticed Monday but he'd been out sick 2 days but still she had paperwork ready cant make sure we aren't all in same page. Different teacher did proctoring. Course at this point hurts school more then Liam if he does made. Such a fuss is made with districts and scores. Eventually he needs to pass to graduate but at this point it's more benchmarks but still now I'm all worked up and can't sleep.

Did you contact people? At my district, my son's IEP is updated by his speech therapist, but we take classes and do testing in another school. We made changes the year before last the week before testing, and the speech therapist made sure that the changes were noted at the other school.

But yes, it makes little difference to your son. But it may make a difference for the school and the percentages of passing kids they have. Why go through the motions if they aren't going to follow through?

My kid can't get accomodations for state tests and it totally stinks! I think there's a political reason behind all that and I can't wait until that ends.. I'm sorry you found out the way you did but if it calms your fears state testing is over and above a regular school curriculum, I think report card grades, Interim reports etc. is a better predictor of school success than that stupid state stuff!
