My daughter is a senior. When she was younger we fought and fought to get her a 504 plan. The school was obnoxious about the whole deal. Every CSE meeting after that they insisted she didn't need this mod or that mod. I insisted that they couldn't take anything away with out her DR's say so. I never gave up.
She has a 'developmental delay in fine and gross motor skills,' but other issues have arisen. She has one autoimmune disease that has been diagnosed and another that is as yet undiagnosed. She can't write or bubble answers for long or her hands cramp and stay in position. Her arms and legs have had episodes of periodic paralysis (no diagnosis yet.) We had to fight for her to have a homeroom on the first floor (the nurse finally told guidance that HER room is Daughter's homeroom.) DD never gave up.
Next month I attend her last 504. We never gave up.
This morning DD found out that she is valedictorian.
