Meeting on Wed....

I have an IEP meeting scheduled for Wed, and I am a NERVOUS wreck! This is our second meeting to discuss all the testing he's done and I guess it's to actually establish the IEP. Any advice?

Just stopping by for an update on our meeting.

The main thing they were focusing on was Joshua's "sound system disorder". He will now be going to speech twice a week to work on his "r" sounds.

They got to the part where they asked me what my concerns were, and I brought up the gifted testing. My biggest concern is that he's not going to be challenged enough and get bored. His teacher said that she had been thinking about it and is going to start giving him different, more challenging work when they do their workstation work. I was happy about that. They started to continue with his IEP but didn't write any of what the teacher said down. I stopped them and said that I wanted what the teacher was agreeing to written in the IEP. They weren't going to do it, but I pushed the issue and it is now written in the IEP that they will be assigning him more challenging work. I am very happy with the outcome, and want to thank all of you for the advice. I couldn't have done it without you! :)
