Any reason not to take PSAT as soph?
| Thu, 09-23-2010 - 11:43am |
My daughter's school is encouraging all sophomores to take the PSAT next month. The sign-up fee is cheap, so that's not an issue, and she really wants to take it. Are there any disadvantages to taking it this year? I don't want her to stress out if she gets a bad score, but it would be helpful for her to know her weaknesses so she can improve before the test actually counts.
I can't think of any other reasons not to take it, but am I missing something?
Sorry I am so late to weigh in.

The math isn't all that advanced on the SAT or PSAT.
In fact, sometimes 7th graders take it as part of the John Hopkin's Talent search.
My daughter took it in December of 7th grade.
Our school has all freshmen take it as part of their standardized testing.
