your kids' teachers on Rate my teacher?
I wouldn't put too much stock in those ratings. I've seen them in our area and at the high school range, it's mostly high schoolers rating the teachers. Sometimes the popular teacher's are the best. Sometimes they aren't. Often the teacher's everyone warned us about ended up fantastic for my children and the favorites unable to control their classes or offer little challenge academically. Some of my own personal favorites from high school were routinely hated and dumped on because they held the kids to high expectations, they weren't attractive, they didn't let grades slide for atheletes,
no I haven't, and wouldn't. If teenagers are rating their teachers which ones are going to get the highest ratings? I don't think it's the ones who are tough or have high standards....it's going to be

My daughter had THE most excellent English teacher last year, but I'll bet her rating would be really low. She was a hard grader, gave tons of challenging homework (honors class), and had high expectations for writing, as well as behavior. My daughter was one of the few kids who liked her, and most parents I spoke to complained about her workload as well.
