My son, the poet

My son is a high school senior, co-editor of the on-line student newspaper.  He's in AP English and I always knew he was a good writer, but recently he started writing poetry, just for fun and I was pretty surprised.  I know I'm biased, of course, but I think it's good--sometimes it's a little pretentious because I think he wants everything to be meaningful and symbolic.  But although I always liked poetry, I have no talent for writing it or doing any kind of creative writing.  Her is a little excerpt:

You spoke of triangles of love and circles of trust;
Unfortunately for you, I failed Geometry.
Your equations of confusion were built
Upon conflicting variables in time and space.

That's terrific!  Don't you love it when our kids shine with talents we didn't even know they had?!
