...that you would give consent for your 16 year old to get married to someone who is 51!?
DH was telling me about this story last night and I just can't imagine marrying off my 7 year old in 9 short years! I'm kind of hoping she waits until she's 30. :smileyvery-happy:

I wouldn't give permission for my kids to get married at 16 to anyone and I also tell them that the way to do things is 1) graduate from college, 2) get a job, 3) get married, 4) have kids--in that order!
I heard the girl is an aspiring country singer so the fact that this guy is an actor and must have some connections in show biz must factor in there.
That is revolting.
My 16 yo would not want to marry a man older than her own father. But I wouldn't give consent for her to marry anyone at this point. Marriage is for people who are old enough to sign their own license.
