Along with saying goodbye to elementary school is saying goodbye to the traditional all inclusive school supply list.  Changing classes and teacher, even without a teacher group there will be different supplies needed for different classes and subject.  How do you approach it before school starts, do you buy the basics and wait to see what teachers ask for the first week, ask at any open house that may be held before school starts, or does your school mail out schedules ahead of time and include a list?

This is something that i find very annoying--all the sales are gonig on at Target & other stores for school supplies and except for buying pencis & lined paper, you never know what to get because by the time they are in high school, every teacher insists on something--like some want a 1" binder, some want a 3" binder, some want  notebooks.  So every year there is a big crowd in Staples on the first day of school.

I have to agree with that, and a lot of times they have gotten rid of a lot of their sales by the first day of school, or you can't take advantage because who has time the first few days of school in the evenings to really shop around for the good deals?
