Need recs on convertible seat for GIANTS!

We've been doing a lot of research the last month but we're lost!

Pg with #3. We have 2 boys ages 9 & 6 so we're out of the loop a bit on seats ;) Both boys were 20+lbs & hanging out of the bucket seats at 3 months old. The 9yo is 5'4" and 130lbs. The 6yo is in a Regent in both my car & my husband's truck but quickly reaching the height limit (We have a sunshine kids monterey booster ready for him). We do NOT know what the gender of the baby is, but we're going with the assumption that baby will grow as quickly as the last two. We're not worried about the cost of the seat, but want it to have the heighest height limit for RF & FF available. I can't seem to find any one spot for every carseat out there & we keep going in circles. Thoughts/help??

The tallest seat and highest RF/FF weight that I know of is the Sunshine kids (or it may be called Diono now) Radian. It has the tallest shell on the market and RF's to 45lbs and FF's 80lbs, or at least one model of it does. The other models are 40 and 65, respectively. I also believe that the 45/80 model comes with an infant insert for newborns :) HTH some.

We want to start with a convertible. We have zero interest in spending the money on an infant carrier that they'll outgrow quickly & turn around 3 months later & have to buy another seat (BTDT with both boys). Our kids get tall VERY quickly & both boys have long torsos. We found out Fri we are having ANOTHER boy and he's measuring as big as the first 2 at this point. My 6yo is almost over the top slots in the Regent. He's 61lbs and I'm unsure of his exact height.

The Diono seats would be good for a fast growing child and definitely would fit a newborn. The R120 or the RXT are the models you want to look at. The R100 has lower RFing and FFing weight limits.

The only other seat that goes to 45 lbs rear facing on the US market is the new Peg Perego convertible, I haven't seen it in person yet but it doesn't look *that* tall from the pictures I've seen. The Clek Foonf is coming out in the next 2-3 months and it will be 2" taller than the Diono radians and also rear face to 45 lbs. It is VERY expensive at $450-500, I believe you can only use it with a bigger baby not a newborn. But the newborn seats are much bigger now and have much higher weight limits. The Safety 1st OnBoard 35 Air is one that comes to mind that has a 35 lb weight limit and a very tall shell. I've seen almost 2 year old kids actually fit in those- small 2 year olds but still! It's not like it was 6-9 years ago ;) Although I would completely understand if you didn't want to spend money on an infant seat you would only use for 6 months or so. I just love the convenience of it...
