I skipped the bucket myself. My DS is in a First Years True Fit and has been since birth. It fit him ok, I'm not going to say well because the first harness slot was at his shoulders with the infant insert. The Cosco Scenra is one that does actually fit some newborns well. Another that was recommended to me when I was looking was the Evenflo Triumph Advance. There was another I believe, but these three have harness slots that are low enough for newborns, or infant inserts that come with the seat to make them low enough.

A note on you older kids, seats are outgrown Forward Facing (FF) when the child's shoulders are above the top harness slots, the tops of their ears are above the top of the shell of the seat or (the least common) they reach the weight limit. So I'd double check your 4YO, they may have outgrown it as well.

HTH some and please come back with any more questions :)

How big is your 6 year old? I am guessing that seat is almost expired. Remember most seats expire 6 years from the date of manufacture not date bought. How much room does your 4 year old have in her seat? Remember most seats are outgrown when the shoulders go over the top slots or the tips of the ears go over the tops of the seat.

What seat is your

Thanks for the replies! Yes, the 6 yr old's Cosco expires in Feb. She has not outgrown the slots, I'll have to check the ear thing on both of them, but I think they are ok. I really do not want to carry the bucket seat around, especially with three others to handle, I think babywearing will work best. So a True Fit, Radian, or Triumph? (Someone else told me the Radian was good for infants too.) What are the pros and cons between those seats? (Or others)

6 yr old is 37 lbs, 1 1/2 yr old is 21 lbs, and 4 yr old was napping at the time, but I think she's 30 lbs...? tiny. I tell ya! lol I know, I kept weighing my 6 yr old wondering if she was too heavy for the seat, but nope, still under 40. Although I did just order the Nautilus. The 4 yr old really is well within range for the Scenera. I suppose if it fits a newborn ok I could get her something else though.... Thanks for helping me think this through! Oh, all three girls were in Sceneras, but the 6 yr olds is expiring, so I have 2 left, the new Nautilus, and need something else ...

How tall are they? Usually the Scenera is out grown by height before weight. They must be short in height as well. Are they considered little people? Just curious as that would make sense. I think as little as your kiddos are the Nautilius is over kill. The Evenflo Maestro cost less and has about the same harness height as the Graco Nautilius. I would get that for your 4 year old. I'm chiming in late but we moved ds2 from his bucket seat to a marathon @ 6 weeks but he is huge for his age and he barely fit in it (shoulders reached the bottom strap slot) at 6 weeks. Now at 15 weeks he is perfect in it but he again is pretty big for his age. Good luck, looks like you've got some great advice!

lol little people? no, they are just on the smaller percentiles. They are short, yes, and they do both still fit in the Sceneras, I double triple checked today. :) Thanks for the help, I'll look into the seats mentioned.
