tall dh, small car and RF

I have a 2010 Chevy Malibu (with latch) and this is the primary car that the kids ride in.  Right now my 11 month is in a infant seat but I plan on moving her into a true fit in Early June.  I also have a eight year old who is in a HBB.

My problem is the rare instances when they will be in my dh's car.  usually when he takes them somewhere he uses my car, but I work at night and heaven forbid something happens in the middle of the night, or for someother reason he need to pick the little one from daycare or something he needs to have a carseat.

The problem is that he is a taller guy in a smaller car.  198(3?) toyota Supra and he sits with the seat all the way back.  How can I make RF work?  She could be installed behind the passenger seat, but my ds cant fit behind dh so he would have to sit in the front seat which I don't let him do.  Is there a seat that sits RF really upright  and might fit?

If not I will just install behind passanger?  If so what is a value carseat that you ladies trust?  Since it will be used so infrequently I hate to spend to much.  She is petite about 17 lbs right now, about 90% for hight (pretty evenly distributed between toso and legs, maybe on the shorter legs side)

TIA

Its a First years True fit right? If it is, and she is under 22lbs and below that red line on the seat (may be hidden under the headrest)you don't need the head rest which gives you a lot more room. I had my TF installed at 45* in a Toyota Celica GT, the passenger seat had to be all the way up, but I did it. Also at 11 months, you can install the TF up to 35*, because she has the neck strength to hold her head up. Her bucket can't be installed like that though, they have to stay at 45* If you want I have pics of my TF installed at 45* and at 35* in the same vehicle and w/o the headrest so you can compare how it looks/fits.

I'd love to see the pics of the different reclines of the true fit... it's what I am using and it fits horribly in our car with the extra head piece.

With the head rest at 35* (I have it on preemptively, as he is 20lbs but he does still have 3-4 inches w/o it)

It is good to know that the true fit might work, but I re-read my message and don't think I said exactly what I wanted to say.

I don't want the true fit to have to be moved once I instal it in my car.

Ok, then some budget conscious options are the Cosco Scenera, about $50, it RF to 35lbs, but only FF to 40lbs. Its shell is taller than the TF w/o the headreast, but shorter than the TF w/ the headrest. Another option is the Safety first Avenue, it also has the 35lb and 40lb limits, but its shell is taller than the Scenera.

Is it possible for you to drive your dh's car when he has the kids and leave your car for him when you are at work?
