This may have an abvious ans, but our daughter is still within the height rec for our car seats, but when sitting her head is near or past the back of the seat. I assume that her head is not protected if it's past the height of the seat even though she's within the height limit, correct??

Is she Forward Facing? Because a FFing seat is outgrown by height when the tops of the child's ears are over the top seat, or their shoulders are over the top harness slot. So if its just the tippy top of her head, she is fine, if the tops of her ears are over, yes she has outgrown it and needs a new seat ASAP.

If she is Rear Facing, then she outgrew it RFing when she had less than one inch of hard shell above her head, and needs to be turned FFing (if it is a convertible seat that can FF) ASAP
