Anyone have a meat slicer?

I'm wondering if it would be worth the initial investment and if anyone could recommend a good one? We are soon to be a family of 5 and go through tons of meat/cheese in a week - dh eats low carb, is 6'6 with hollow legs - LOL. How often do you use yours? What do you guestimate you save? Thanks, Michele

We've had one for years and hardly ever use it. Not the answer you were looking for, I'm sure. ;-)

I have had one for years (10+) and my dad got it for me. It is a Rival brand. I love it! don't use it a ton but for buying hams, whole pork loins. salamis and such is is wonderful for slicing. Roasts and steaks and everything. It was inexpensive, under $100 and easy to clean, comes apart and fits into the dish washer.

BUT all of my stores slice things for free so I am not totally sure where the savings would come. Kwim?

IT is cheaper to buy whole cheese and slice it yourself.
