Christmas~How Do You Pay For It?

I have tried to cut my budget a little this year although it seems to be close to what it was last year. However, my question is how do you pay for it? Do you put money aside all year like a Christmas club? Do you pay in cash? Put it on the credit card and cringe in January? I try to shop at least a little all year long but we do get hit with a large bill n December and January. We do put it on our credit cad b/c I like to get the points. We pay the balance off in full each month. But in January I will get a check for $250 from my accumulated points to help pay off some bills. I also use gift cards I have saved during the year I received as gifts or received thru Mypoints.com etc.

hello!! well, in years past, im not going to lie-my grandma paid for it. she would give us a "gift" of a large amount of money and we would use that on christmas. if it wasnt enough to cover everything, we would use credit cards to make up the difference. but sadly she passed away in febuary. so we are on our own this year. my dh builds circuit boards and gets spare money from that. we have been buying items since the end of june. whenever we would get a board check, we would buy something for christmas. we bought our girls a wii in mid july. i have bought a lot of items from amazon.com in the last couple of months. i have also bought some stocking stuffers and a few gifts at kroger, where i work, cuz they offer fuel points. (every dollar you spend there, you get a point. every 100 points and you get 10 cents off a gallon at their gas stations. you can save up to 1.00 per gallon. and its good for a fill-up-theres no limit on how many discount gallons you can get) we have used 1 credit card-fingerhut-for a couple of things, but not too much this year. i wont get sticker shocked when i get my credit card bills in january...i think we did okay this year. i think my kids and my nieces and nephews that i buy for will be happy...:)
