Did you accomplish all of your January goals? Share your success/progress!

Here's how I did....

1. Shopping exile---Well, let's just say I didn't stay out of stores. However, I did spend about $150 less than I usually do on groceries and household supplies. I had to stock up on dh's Pepsi; that added up but I also won't need to buy it for 2-3 months. I was able to use up some odds & ends in the freezer & pantry. Like the butternut squash I finally took the time to cook and the choc. chip cookie dough that I found in the freezer and had forgotten about! The semi-exile will continue into Feb., lol.

2. I did sit down and work on the budget. We've started back to adding to our *itemized savings* and our vehicle fund. That had stopped when dh got laid off in Sept. 2008.

3. Taxes & the FAFSA are started and about 1/2 finished.

4. I'm mostly back into my workout routine, at least where cardio is concerned. I'm bored w/my weight training and need to come up w/something new.

5. Declutter laundry room--DONE!! Looks so great down there! My declutter item count came to 368 for January! In just one month over 1/2way to my *730 in 365* decluttering goal for the year, ROFL!! (You can read more about that here.)

Let's hope I can keep up my momentum in February!

Here's how I did...

1. Work on staying within our weekly allowance and having some left over. This was a great goal...but we are still struggling with the having money leftover part. I am trying though.

2. Plan our meals based on food already in the freezer and pantry. I did fairly well with this, only buying what was necessary to finish off meals from the pantry and freezer. I cleaned out the freezer quite a bit.

3. Work out on Wii Fit everyday at least 20-30 minutes. Yeah... I dropped the ball on this one, and Wii Fit is yelling at me...

I'm trying to be more accountable so I follow through with these goals so I just wanted to say that I appreciate the check ins :)

1. Develop a budget plan. - DONE. I chose 10% less than 2009 for food, household, etc. Granted, I overspent in January - but that just means I have to do better in February!

2. Start tracking clothing spending. - DONE. And it's a good thing - we bought quite a bit of clothing in January, more than usual but nothing that I would consider not necessary.

3. Do the FAFSA. - DONE. As of yesterday :) It as actually surprisingly fast.

4. Do taxes. - DONE. As of yesterday as well :) I did federal and state, too!

5. Start saving $25 biweekly (gotta start somewhere, right?). - DONE. I've saved $50 so far and still have my automatic transfer set up. I'm actually thinking about upping this amount because I just got a raise at work :)

1. Stay on my good habits once work starts again (Monday)
CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT THAT MIGHT MEAN :)

2. Exercise in the mornings
I'M DOING ABOUT 2 MAYBE 3 TIMES A WEEK, BUT STILL BETTER THAN BEFORE

3. Stay in our cash budget and only write checks for groceries
DOING GOOD ON THIS, BUT OF COURSE WE HAD SEVERAL LARGER THAN EXPECTED BILLS THIS MONTH SO I HAD TO PAY LESS THAN PROJECTED TOWARD DEBT

4. Stay focused at work and then leave on time
I'M STILL LEAVING ABOUT 30-45 MINUTES LATE FOR THE HOUSE AND REGRET IT EVERY TIME-STILL A BIG GOAL FOR ME

5. Only go out to eat twice
CHECK (YAY)

1. keeping the extra hundred in savings which will be a total of 112 (888 to go).
Okay that didn't happen, but it's all good. I'm planning on putting 200 in it this month.
2. Not letting DH take me to work and me not taking him to school. So we can save on gas.
We did great on this one. We also didn't take that many joy rides.
3. walk-jog 3-4 times a day. :)
This one also worked out wonderful.

All and all not bad. February will be a better month.
