what do you do for lunch everyday...
peanut butter and jelly is awesome...but everyday is boring...
So what are some ideas for cheap healthy lunches
Homemade lunchables are a big hit here: Milton's whole multi-grain crackers, tuna salad or sliced turkey breast, sliced cheese.
I am also a fan of fried-egg sandwiches, but no one else here eats them.
We also like cheese, salami, and grapes, or sliced veggies with ranch.
I either take:
soup and salad or soup and half sandwich (I use Progresso light soup,
We like to eat pasta salad, crackers with lunchmeat and cheese, or make our own bean burritos. I have cut frozen meals out of the budget, so my first choice these days is leftovers.

I know this is not frugal but I make strawberry smoothies (I never measure but cool whip,vanilla yogurt, little milk and frozen strawberries tossed into the blender and mixed)

u know i never thought about adding cool whip in a smoothie i'm such a dork... alex lost a few pounds while sick and needs to gain some weight before he loses his pants which he's close too.. .. so i'm going to add cool whip in for extra calories
I never liked just yogurt in my smoothie I also have done both cool whip and some vanilla ice cream if that is what is on hand
I add two or three spoonfuls to mine
I usually take a Meijer Lean Meal which is 1.88 to 2.88 a meal. I usually can get them on sale for 1.33 a meal. I also take a ww yogurt (.50) and a piece of fruit (.50-.75).
If I don't take a lean meal, I take leftovers.
For "main" items:
-leftovers (whatever we had for dinner night b/fore)-salad and a hard boiled egg-homemade bean and cheese burrito (make extras when we have burritos for dinner and stick them in freezer for days w/out leftovers)-egg sandwiches or breakfast stuff (weekends)-egg salad sand-canned soup (progresso) w/cheese (cream cheese or hard cheese)and crackers-instant oatmeal and a hard boiled egg-vegetarian hotdog-tortilla chips and bean dip (refried beans, cheese, and salsa)-hummus and veggies and/or pita
Side items:-fruit-baby carrots-moz. cheese stick (I buy large blocks and cut and bag them myself)-yogurt-low salt nuts and/or dried fruit
