We have given up cable. We have enjoyed DirectTV for 15 years, but due to our move and our finances at this time, we feel it is what we need to do. We watch

I thought about that. But it's dh's entertainment. He is disabled and don't get out much. I don't buy any pay movie channels. We just got basic cable. Because I do the all in one. Phone, tv and internet with the cable company. It works out ok for us. Sure I could be saving some money. By just keeping our internet. Dropping the cable tv. I won't deny dh some form of entertainment.

I don't think we will ever give up our DishNetwork. With the alternatives like Netflix and Hulu you can watch some programs, but not all that are offered with a package. My BF is a huge sports fan and watches games all year long. With the DVR we just record what we want to see and watch it when we can. We also don't spend much on other forms of entertainment, so the $100 a month is worth it to us. We wouldn't be as happy without it. You have to draw the line somewhere. We cut back in other ways.

I've been a tv-addict all of my adult life, with very little discrimination. About three years ago, finances forced me to give up cable in favor of an antennae. Since then, we purchased a Wii and use it extensively for Netflix. I also view some shows online.

To be honest, I'm pretty content with our current setup. I give lip service to getting cable again someday but I probably never will. I say go for it!
