I've got a folder of tax documentation staring at me that I really need to sort through so I can start working on our return.

No, from 2001 until 2010 I always had to do it as early as possible because of having kids in college and the FAFSA.

I used to be really quick to get ours done when we were getting refunds. The past 3 years we've owed a bit, so I'm in no huge hurry to pay.

I'm also trying to decide if I want to use Turbo Tax again this year. I tried Tax Act from H&R Block one year, and I did not like it. I think maybe I'm just used to Turbo Tax. Our bank will usually put a link on their home page so we can get a decent discount if we start our return using their link.

Do you pay someone, do them yourselves by hand, or use software?

no...dh's work messed up the form, so they have to issue a new one. Apparently since work pays for the gym memberships...that is counted as income. Why do taxes have to be so confusing?

That's interesting! I didn't realize perks like that were considered income, but it makes sense. Is this the first year they've paid for his gym membership?
