looking for gently used cloth diapers.

Hi I am not a regular here, but I thought maybe someone could help. I am expecting twins in March and have decided to cloth diaper. I am sorta strapped financially right now,, so was wondering if anyone knew where I could find good used diapers. I am going to try my hand at sewing them, but right now can't even afford the material. I thought if I could find some at a good price, I could buy a few at a time, andmaybe take a patteren off of one. Thanks so much for you time. Shelly

Try www.mothersnature.com and go to their auction site.

Hands down the cheapest way I can think of to cloth diaper would be to get proraps seconds covers & CPF seconds. They're a couple of bucks each, and frankly, CPFs are more absorbent than fitted ones (which I believe is what you're thinking of making). I love my prorap covers, too!

HTH, and good luck!

I'm sure the other posters mentioned this alrady, but I haven't read their posts yet, so...

Try the flea market board here at ParentPlace, they have a whole catagory / section devoting to used cloth diapers. You can also try on e-bay, but sometimes you have to really know what type / brand of diaper you're buying or else you can get stuck with something that doesn't work well. Sometimes there's lots of used diapers at WAHMall (http://www.wahmall.com) and there's another auction site (it's new) that's similar WAHM Chicks (http://www.wahmchicks.com) Sometimes there's used on there I think.

If you ask on the diapering board here at Parent Place also, there's a Yahoo Group set up for trading / selling old used diapers, one of the ladies there will know how to sign up and the name of it.

Post an ISO cloth diapers post on the flea market board and you'll get tons of e-mail. It's also good to know which type of dipe you would like, starting out you're probably not too sure what will work best for you, but if you have an idea, like AIOs, fitted and covers, prefold and covers, etc. that will help in the search and it's always nice to have a few of each starting out. Also remember not to buy lots and lots of newborn / really small dipes, well maybe not if you're having twins, you'll have twice the butt to diaper and I think twins are usually smaller anyways.

HTH, good luck in your search, cloth diapering will definintly save you money especially with twins.

When you start sewing, if you have questions, LMK (erin@storksavers.com) and I can give you all the info that I know of, like where to get the cheapest fabrics, etc. tips and tricks. I'd be glad to help out.

I'm expected #3 in Jan/Feb/March (we're not sure yet. LOL)
