Let's have a little thread to remind us all that despite the troubles and the turmoils of the past and present, there is always room for gratitude.

I am more grateful than ever for.....

the love of family

the love and blessings of friends that I have kept close, and those I am newly reacquainted with (thank you FACEBOOK - I would have never made it without you!)

this board and the friendships I have with you all here

doctors who took the time to study instead of party in college, so that they can keep people healthy and fix us when we are not

dentists who put up with unbearable whining from most people. THANK YOU for fixing me up when I am in unbelievable pain. It's not a glam job, but life would be hell without you.

for my dd and her friends who are all such good kids

for the blessing of liberty and freedom

for scientists who move us toward a better tomorrow

and for all those unsung people who do their job every day without getting the school bus driver, and the checkout clerk, and the accountant.

for the military and their families, past and present

for cops, firefighters, nurses, trash men, undertakers and everyone else who does a job I wouldn't want because I'm too squeamish

for my husband who works so hard to support us financially

and for our employees who we count on everyday

You thanking your son's birthmother just brought tears to my eyes.

When I was in high school, a girl I knew and liked went off to her "aunt's house" for you know, 6 months or so. It was never spoken of as being a pregnancy but it made a profound impact on my life. I took extreme caution to not get pregnant as a high schooler because of her.

I've recently found her on Facebook and I'm so happy that she now has more kids and is doing well.

I wish I could tell her how much her decision impressed me. To give up something so precious to her in order for the baby to have a more stable family, well that is just the meaning of the word love. And I'm glad my friend got the happy ending she deserved too.

So happy that you are on the receiving end of that kind of love.
