Easter is just a little over 2 weeks away. Do you do Easter baskets? Host an Easter egg hunt or dinner? What are some of your Easter traditions?

We do baskets for the boys and usually dye eggs.

We will re-use Easter buckets, grass & plastic eggs from years past for DS (9) & DS (3). They will get candy and a small toy each. I already have a stuffed bunny for 3yr. old (bought this last year after Easter along with dye for the eggs). Our older DD (22) & DS (20) will not have baskets this year since they no longer live at home but we will get them a little something, probably $. We usually go to Church and have a family dinner. In our area, there are usually Easter Egg hunts on the Saturday before sponsored by the town or area Churches. We usually try to go to one of these, depending on the weather. A couple of years ago it snowed, making those eggs a little harder to find. LOL

I buy the cheap bucket style baskets at WM and usually reuse them, but the old ones were trashed so I got some new ones this week. I've been buying some candy and treats each week, and that's helped me save $.

My mom will have us over for Easter dinner and do an egg hunt here.

Easter definitely used to be much bigger when I lived near my family. Last year (Alexis's first Easter), we almost proceeded like it was any normal day - but we did buy her a basket and a few toys. This year isn't going to be much bigger. I'm going to make Easter dinner before DH goes to work (he doesn't have to go until 4:30pm). Alexis will have a basket. We bought her an bunny Mrs. Potato Head. I also have a slide I got on Black Friday (for $15) for her. I'm thinking I might get her something else small to fit in the basket (and fill it up). Otherwise, I know we'll decorate eggs - either on Easter or the day before - but we won't hide them. Convincing a 21 month old to look for Easter eggs probably won't go over well. Otherwise, it will just be our usual Sunday as a family.

We do it all. The big Easter dinner at my parents with extended family, church, Easter dresses that I bought for $7.00 on clearance last year after Easter!

I still have my 41 year old basket from my childhood, too!

My basket turns 50 this year, LOL!!

Cute story about singing *a tisket, a tasket*! Made me smile as I haven't thought of that song in years! :-)

I still have my 41 year old basket from my childhood, too! It used to be green and yellow and my mother would always sing the "a-tisket, a-tasket, a green and yellow basket" song each year. It's long since faded to no color at all, but I still think of it as green and yellow. And I still use it for MY Easter candy each year.

Naturally, the kids also use their same baskets each year too.
