I just did my budget for June and discovered that I spent $839 on groceries/toiletries/cleaning supplies for the month. Really? I'm in shock. Luckily, July is better...I'm at $437 and I only have one week left. Whew! I feel like the little engine that could. Each month is going to be a new learning experience. The fact that we don't have any money any more should sink in soon....LOL!

That's it. For August, I'm tracking JUST the non-food.

When I tracked the food expenses, I found snacking out was costing us more than I realized. Not meals, just snacks. So, now we buy and chill our own sodas and bottled water, and take it cold in

I checked and I spent about $100 on toiletries and cleaning supplies for July. I am attached to certain products, and I'm not sure I want to give them up. :) I think my goal is to spend less than $400 a month, but I'd be happy with consistently keeping it under $500 a month. We'll see what happens.
