Our local winco store has bulk cereal. Has anyone debated the cost of bin cereal vs bag or box? I haven't had time to do the math.

I have a huge family and we will go through two boxes everyday....

If you have ever purchased bin how do you keep it fresh? Canister or big ziplock?

Thanks for your help...;)

I haven't claculated the cost. I usually keep inthe box it came in although I do think canister is the way to go to keep it fresh.

the cost should be calculated for you, right on the shelf sticker. You can see what you are paying per oz or lb. Or, next time you are shopping, whip out your cell phone and do the math really quick. Just divide the price by the oz (16 oz in a lb) and then you'll know.

In my case, the bin cereal is more expensive than the box or bag stuff. But if I bought bin cereal, I'd just store it in the plastic bag I bought it in, with the twist tie on it. You go thru cereal so fast, it shouldn't have time to go stale. Gosh, I can't imagine 2 boxed daily. I almost always buy the big bags of cereal. Each of my kids has a fav, so we usually have 3 open bags at any time. Have you priced bagged cereal against boxed cereal? The bins kind of gross me out.

Yes we usually buy the bags...unless there is a great deal with the box kind.
Lol on being grossed out.....I totally know what you mean. But I really think the quality is probably just as clean ....;) I hope. ;)
I hit every other month a scratch and dent store. All cereal is 1.25 regardless of size or brand. I have to check dates though.
Thanks for your help. Guess I will have to do the math. Maybe next time when I have no kids in tow.:)
