I started watching the sales flyers to get a start on some school supplies we also need or what I need to provide for the oldest so there was two different stores that had good deals on crayons folders and glue sticks so I take the sales flyer into walmart with the two girls because there is a limit of 4 per item so I got crayola crayons for a quarter a box of 24 and two pack of elmers glue sticks for a quarter and some simple folders for only nine cents each
looks like I am going back tonite for more crayons tonite or Saturday have not decided yet

plus a few weeks ago I got the girls a pair of capris for a dollar per pair and a dress for the oldest for a dollar as well

I got packs of 8 pens and packs of 12 pencil cap erasers for a penny a package. I also got printer paper for $2 a ream after rebate, sticky flags for 25 cents and 4 pack glue sticks for 25 cents.

My kids panicked because they thought that meant summer is almost over. Between back to school sales and a cool summer, I can see how they could get that impression!

School starts in our district on Aug. 10th!

My youngest 2 will be in 8th & 9th so just basic supplies needed here. I have plenty and probably only need to pick up some extra notebooks to get us through the school year.

Walmart for me had the cheapest supply prices. I used to get annoyed. They'd give us this big long list of things. Much of it they didn't use. So I would start out buying the basics. Pens, pencils, paper and folders. I'd have our son reuse ring binders or trapper keepers if they were in good shape. If they started using some of the other things on the list. Then I'd go out and get it. If they said 2 boxes of kleenex. I'd send 1. Figuring if it got used up. They'd say he was out. Send more. I figured they had more than enough kleenex for the school year. If each kid brought in 1 box. Some other things that were still useable also got reused the next year. Like colored pencils, pens, what was left of a box of regular pencils, unused notebooks or loose leaf paper.

I always tell the teachers on the first day that when/if they need a box of tissues or wipies or whatever, Please call me, I'll get them in right away. They know me now, and they do call or email and tell me that they need 1more box of something, or ask me to send in something else not on the list. That works out better for my budget and their storage.

August 10?? Wow! We're August 23rd. I got our back to school shopping done last week. Well, the supply part. I still need to buy uniforms for DS, but after that I'll be finished.

For us, school ended in early June. We start back on the 24th. I just went in to register and I'm glad the school's secretary said something because I had the 23rd in my mind!

Yes, the snow days pushed our release date back, too. I can't believe how many snow days we wound up taking this past winter.
