DH and I both work but I handle all the bills, which in reality is the computer doing the work because everything we pay is online and most things are direct debited from out account. The only thing I pay directly is the credit card bill each month where our bills and other stuff is charged too.

hubby makes the money i spend it :) if we left it up to him things would never get paid and he'd always be buying something.. i instead make him wait to see if he really wants something..

I pay the bills. It started with the fact that I was a single mom, taking care of my household. I always knew exactly how much money I had and where it went or was going. When I got married, he wanted to pay the bills, he used quicken and I didn't and he wanted to do it that way. I let him pay bills for a few months, but kept a close eye on what was going on. he was double paying some stuff and not paying other stuff at all. We were racking up late fees and over draft fees like I've never seen before. I took the bills over again and never will I let them go again. We're divorced now. But I'll always be the bill payer. I'm good with money, I can stretch it like no one else I know. Bills get paid, money gets saved, debt gets erased. I like it that way!

Every payday DH and I meet up in the office and take care of the bills together.

Dh pays all the bills through quicken. He has an elaborate system for paying off stuff I don't begin to understand. We do a cash budget for eating out every two weeks, and everything else we buy is paid for using the debit card.

I pay all the bills in our house. I got mad a dh about that indirectly. He wants a membership to some place he can download movies and music. Ok that's his entertainment. He don't get out of the house much being disabled. Told him we really can't afford this membership this year. They would bill late June for the whole year. I said is there any other options. He gets mad. Oh so your denying my entertainment. No. I just want to see if there are other options to pay. It had 1yr, 6 months or monthly. Monthly cost way more than 6 months or a year. So I told him we can do 6 months now. Then something later. He is like well I guess. Then I said can I pay with anything other than credit card. He tries to tell me no. I said log into your account so I can see for myself. It let me enter the debit card in. On the debit card there is no interest on the charge. It only draws on money in your account. That when it's renewal time for his membership. He better be good at reminding me at least a week if not more when it will be time to renew. So there is money in our account. There are at the moment no regular charges coming to our credit card. Everything is set up with our debit card. No interest being paid on anything. I will not be pulling the credit card out of the safe. Unless it's a very dire emergency. I figure out of sight out of mind. I won't get tempted to use it.
