changing banks?

Hey all!

I am chatty lately, aren't I, but hoping to get the board moving again.

We are thinking of switching banks since Bank of America announced their plan to charge for debit card use.

We had two checking accounts until a couple of weeks ago. We have one at a local bank, and then we opened one a year ago with Chase when we were going to refinance. If we had a Chase checking account for automatic payment, then we would have gotten an even better deal. Unfortunately, someone at Chase dropped the ball on our refinance, so we went with another bank (Chase's loss). We didn't need the Chase account anymore, so we cancelled that one. I'm glad, too. No way would we be willing to pay service fees for things like using a debit card, and I know Chase is big on fees.

I don't think our local bank will adopt the fees for debit card use, but if they do then we'll have to think about possibly switching banks.

We don't bank through B of A, but if we did, one of two things would happen: DH would have a talk with them and they would waive all fees, or we would move our money elsewhere. My dad was a banker; I will never, ever, pay a bank for allowing them the use of my money to lend to other people.

I am not switching banks but we do have an acct with B Of A but also with Wells fargo which I like much better. My kids also have accts with TD. So right now not feeling any pressure to move but wll see.
