I got email the other day from our credit card. Mind you I have had no balance on our card in a month. I paid it in full May 20th. So the email says. How will you use your credit limit. Something like that. Then it was a ad to use your credit card for your next purchase. Then bring up Fathers Day is coming up. Yeah well not using it now. There is nothing that is a monthly charge to our credit card. I changed everything to go to our debit card. So it comes out of our checking. What has me is the interest. There was 10$ on it that I forgot was coming to the card. That went there before I changed everything to our debit card. To find a new total of 15.15$. That the difference was interest charges. I paid it immediately. Then when they said Citibank got hacked into the other week. I been checking my account every few days. I think the credit cards get annoyed when they don't have customers with balances on their cards collecting interest.

They have called twice this week saying we can get some rediculously low interest for a time period. They ask you call the credit card company directly to ask about that interest special. I put that number in call block. Then the bank that holds the loan on the house calls. We have 5yrs left on the house payment. This loan officer starts telling me about some loan offer at 4.2 % interest. I said not interested. He keeps talking. Trying to talk me into a loan. I said No thanks. Not interested at this time.

along the same lines, I was cleaning out a pile of mail the other day and had 18 credit card offers! I get at least 1 every week, and often a couple a day. The bank won't refi my mortgage, but the credit card companies sure wanna do business with me. With that in mind, you very well might be right about how much they make off those that accept my cc as payment.

they hate it when customers pay off their card every month, too. They want that interest. I get 2 points for every dollar I spend on my card. I figure, if I didn't pay with credit, I'd pay with debit, it's the same money. So I pick up the points, that add up to a pretty visa card to buy Christmas gifts with, and I pay off that card every month, much to their chagrin.
