What exactly is a 504 plan..and what can I expect from it?

A 504 is covered under ADA, and can be anything from ensuring a peanut free environment, to using a tape recorder or laptop in class to take notes. It ensures that all children with disabilities can take part in all federally funded programs.
To find out if your child needs a 504 plan, or an IEP you will need to request an educational Evaluation from his school in writing.
A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
504's and IEP's are the two most popular options when looking for a plan to help your child.
