Trust me, I know that getting a diagnosis is scary for her, but in the long run it's better knowing. The statistics are very scary for children who not get diagnosed or given any type of treatment. Their self esteem suffers so badly, they think it's their fault that they get in trouble, can't get their work done, etc. when it's just their brain is wired differently. There is no shame involved, and it's pretty common in schools nowadays. I hope that she'll become more open-minded in the future.

Hello!  The basic difference is that children who are ADD (aka ADHD, inattentive) do not have the hyperactivity issues that other children diagnosed with ADHD.  My son is like that, he still has issues with impulse control, but his main issue is inattentiveness.  Have they gotten an evaluation yet?
