Tell me I'm not crazy.
I had worked (I quit after kids were born) as a behavioural therapist for preschoolers with autism for about 6 years. So I have quite a bit of intense experience with Autism.
My 1st child was born (one with severe ADHD) and I always 'knew' something was wrong. Although he was so 'typical' in so many ways, and reached all milestones (he was late to talk, 19 months, but caught up quickly) appropriately- there was always that other aspect to him (behaviour, sensory).
I remember ALWAYS saying to my husband "It's not autism, no way, he's WAY too social, but there's something not right". I just couldn't put my finger on it. I brought him EVERYWHERE but either I was blamed for his behaviour, or I was told he was 'normal' and just 'very bright' (he's gifted as well). Or he was too young to be assessed for anything like ADHD.
Now he's almost 5 and in school full time. His behaviour improved around 3.5 (funny, when all dairy was removed from our diet because my youngest is anaphylactic) and I thought "okay, great, he's maturing and ready to go to school moreso now". I sent him (at
