Case Conference
Tue, 04-15-2003 - 8:53pm

Next week is the Case Conference for talking to the school system about my son starting 8th grade next year The School Psychologist I went to will be there with all the test results.

I am on the alert and defensive, for all that the school has not seem to care in the past - but the school psychologist has said that he will try to sweep all that off the table - I hope he can.

Any tips, thoughts, or anything in preparation for this!

Take someone with you! Anyone. This person can help in several ways, take notes, emotional support, be another ear to hear everything in case you forget. I took two, DH & another person.

Know your rights. Know what your son needs. If you have any kind of evaluation use it.

Here is a link that is very helpful. It is 10 common mistakes parents make in an IEP meeting. Really good ideas.

Also here is a link to Wrights Law, wich helps explain IEPs.

Hope some of these help. Good luck!!!!!
