Hello!

You mentioned Omega Fish Oil therapeutic recommendations in another post...which ones do you use? My ADHD kids are 8 y/o and 6 y/o if that matters :)

I've tried the gummy Omegas but they won't eat them (too fishy I guess!)...

Just wondering what you use?

Thanks!

Lynn

HI

We use Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega, 2 caps contain 650 mgs EPA/450 DHA, DD takes 3 caps daily usually, sometimes we alternate, 2 one day 3 the next. They are not chewable, and kinda big, but she is a pro at swallowing horse pills. Make sure and take Vitamin E also, it is a MUST with Omega's, DD takes 100 mgs daily.

Okay, got it written down.

You obviously noted a big difference when you started them w/ her? What did you note specifically? :)

Tics should go away withn a few days, unless he actually has Tourettes, his age is when it usually shows up.

The Omega's helped with moods, not focus, and they take 3-4 months to see a difference.

Have you tried eliminating things from his diet? We don't do any processed foods, artificial colors or flavors. No fast food, Honestly, dd has never, that I know of eaten a Happy meal, or mcnugget. We are also GF, and it does help. We do the Feingold diet, but the entire family has to follow any diets for it to work.

Hi, Lynn,

I know this question was for someone specific, but I thought you might find the additional information helpful.

We use Nordic Naturals too. The Omegas come in a junior form that is easier to swallow than the adult size or they can be chewed and then either swallow the capsule or spit it out. Nordic Naturals is also free of dyes, preservatives, artificial flavors, etc. AND already has Vitamin E in it.

Not all of the NN products have Vit E.

We used to use the juniors, but she had to take So many, was cheaper to go to the bigger ones....LOL

Glad it's working for you.

Thank you, Aquarius! I love to have as much info as possible!!! :)

We are already dye-free and have been for years, right down to their vitamins. I still think it is hard to say no to those things, even moreso now that they are older! I live at Whole Foods types of markets.

I buy that Horizon milk w/ the extra DHA, as well as orange juices, pasta, eggs, and butter, but I've never added it all together to see what amount they are getting or if it even matters in those types of foods. So, supplementing might be good for us.

Since we started having issues lately, I, too, thought of taking the boys to see a chiropracter for some more natural help...I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again to both of you for the help, I really appreciate it.
