A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
She could have inattentive ADHD but she could also have a gazillion other things that make kids
I'm SO not an expert, obviously, and you didn't say that much, but yes, that could be ADHD-inattentive. Mine was like that at age 6 (1st grade), way too often in a world of his own. We actually did Connors in Dec, he 'wasnt' ADHD, and then redid in May & he was. So much of this is how ADHD-like "normal" kids are, sometimes.
So, OK, ADHD-inattentive kids CAN concentrate on things that they really like (for mine, things like computer games & legos, back then). They can be really bright (sounds like yours loves reading!) & be compensating for the attentional weaknesses with that brightness, but eventually it all catches up on them, as school gets harder. The trick is to start medicating BEFORE that happens, of course...
Seriously, yes, both the "zoned out", and the lack of social skills that you are indicating are ADHD indicators. Probably worth the time/money for a good ADHD eval. Certainly worth hitting a couple of the ADHD sites & books and reading more.
HI, and welcome
