Can I get some current perspectives on this way of delivering ritalin? I know it was plagued with problems & recalls & hard-to-peel issues for awhile a few years ago. Is this still true? Or have they successfully changed their manufacturing process?
Can you leave the patch on for longer than the 9 hrs? If not, do you have to still do boosts for afternoon/evening homework?
Can you go swimming with the patch on?
I ask because it's spring again, and we all know the dosages'll need to go up again...and, frankly, 40 mg Focalin XR as a morning dose is *already* high. So it makes me wonder if an alternate delivery system would be a good plan, maybe metabolize differently enough that he'd need less med. Though I love Focalin XR, really I do.

Sigh. School starts at 8 am, so the patch (2 hrs to take effect, right?) would have to go on at 6 am.
Just checked their website & they are saying children 6-12--no adults? My kid is 12, 13 in June, so I suppose this isn't an option then.

No, it doesn't work like that. We have left it on accidently for longer than 9 hours, and during the med trials they had us leave them on for 12-18-24 hours, but it does stop working after 12 hours.
