had to resort to using some "left over" adderall XR I had from last month.

If you read the post below on "trying yet another" the Dr perscribed a new "metadate-Cd in a 10mg dose" new according to him. We talked this morning and he said it was ok until the pharmacy can get it in we could use the old adderall.(good thing he okay'ed it I alrady did it!!LOL!!) I was intending on letting him go med free for the four days but this morning remined me why we are doing the meds in the first place!

I laid out his clothes, 20 min to get dressed with 3 reminder and finally helping him! no chance in heck that his bed was going to get made. Three reminders to let the dog out, once he got outside forgot what he was doing and had to come back in and ask me! lost his shoes in the five min from when he let the dog out and we had to leave. Couldn't manage to get them on in any sort of timely fashion so I carried the darn shoes. Getting into the car took 3min, and I had to put on his seatbelt...he somehow forgot that habit as well!! and this was all within 1hr 15min or so!!!

So at this point, I gave up! I ran back in the house desperately dug through the meds found the old adderall XR and gave him it with a bottle of OJ and pulled out of the driveway! There was no way his grandmother would have not gone nuts today if I didn't do that! They would have gotten nothing acomplished what so ever. I was ever so thank ful I did that as I found out later when I picked them up she had brought them to a Dr apt (podiatrist no big dea and quick) with her, then to the fabric store to have them choose the stuff for their halloween costumes. He would have had a melt down with out meds...having to behave and then make a choice it would have never happened!!!

So give me the bad mom crown for giving out old meds or creative crown for sanity saving purposes!!!

I would have done the same thing! Funny how it takes like an hour to remind you why you are medicating, LOL.

I just read your post i think i go thru the same things every morning except times 2 i have 2 adhd kids.

I did see though.. FYI... OJ will make the meds either upset their tummy or cause the med to not work as well. i remember our Dr. mentioning this.

I do not beleive you ddeserve the bad mom crown!!!! YOu did what you had to do!!! I would never go med free for a day! Especially, if it would have to be someone else that had to deal with it. That would be cruel! Not to mention, I feel that you just got confirmation on why you started meds in the first place and reminded you that you are doing the right thing and are a good mother!!! Let us know how the Medidate CD is. My son takes the Medidate ER. I am curious as to what the difference is.
