Drug question

As some of you may remember, we are changing to a new doctor. He is going to retest my son and everything just so he knows exactly where we stand. My question is, to any of you out there, have your kids ever taken a med that didn't work, that worked at a later time? For instance, my son took concerta almost 1 1/2 years ago and it didn't seem to work. Is it possible it might work now? He has tried several meds with varied results, and I don't want to eleminate the possibility of trying something again. So if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.

Thanks, Robyn

Just as some meds lose their effectiveness, it is possible that as a child's body grows and develops, a med that didn't work at one time does work at a later time. With Kevin, prior to getting the ADHD diagnosis, the doc had added Concerta (low dose) to something else he was taking, and there was no effect from this. When he was diagnosed as ADHD and put on Concerta, it worked exactly as it was meant to (and better than we'd hoped for.) So, I definitely wouldn't rule out anything!
