How effective have you found Concerta and other meds in regards to fidgeting? I find the Concerta helped my son but did not eliminate fidgeting. He still fidgets alot (less than before).
Is this normal?

Well....IMHO, fidgeting isn't why I medicate, if that makes sense? Fidgeting that's destroying concentration, that's a different category--not sure what you're dealing with. So, no, while all the ritalins have helped my kid with inattention, and have decreased the need for movement, he certainly still fidgets.

So do I, though, and I hold down a job just fine ;}. We get into discussions of acceptable vs. unacceptable ways to fidget.

You are right. It feels good to hear it the way you said it.

My son 10, is on Concerta but he still fidjets all the time. He has special balls at school to play with at his seat to keep it down. It does help. The meds are not a cure all completely. You would have to ask your doctor about that situation and what is acceptable,

The doc knows he still fidgets. The teacher said she noticed he is doing it more than earlier in the year.
