Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a great summer. I've missed not being here.

DD is now in the 1st grade and is doing wonderfully. I think we had alot of maturing and some wonderful breathroughs during the summer. She's doing well on the Adderall XR at 30mg a day. We had a full psych eval in July and it was concluded that she was under dosed for her size on 20mg. Due to the medication, she's lost 15lbs and is svelte and beautiful (she was very overweight) She spent the bulk of the summer in a YMCA day camp and after a few rocky 1st days, she succeeded in the program. I brought her on a weekend trip to Santa's Village which she did wonderfully at. (unfortunatley, I decided not to give her the med on the trip home.....she gabbed non-stop for three hours, I swear I was pulling my hair out! LOL) Her greatest success was going to visit her father after 3 years of physical absence on his part and she stayed with him for 6 days! She had a blast and according to him, she was a perfect lady the entire time. She went through alot of evaluations and testing last year in kindergarten to determine whether she would qualify for a one on one para educator in her classroom; she did qualify, but so far has not needed it. The school guidance counselor has told me she's doing well right now so we won't rock the boat.

When God closes a door, He opens a window...... :)

Thank you for letting me vent my happiness!

Happy news is always so nice to read.

My DS repeated 1st grade last year after the year from hell, and he had a wonderful year, too. It is just so great to see our kids (or really, any kid, but we know the struggle for our kids) do well!

Enjoy the moment.

Great news ... sounds like a great summer. So glad for all of you, including her father. It's important to have both parents involved, if possible, in the life of a child, so I'm glad this was a success.

We're in VT. Santa's Village is in a town in NH, about 2 hours away.
