Having problems falling asleep...anyone's child on meds for sleep?

My daughter is 7 and is on Concerta for her ADHD combined type. She has been having a hard time
I would try Melatonin first, it is safe, natural and NOT addictive. We use it, and have for years.
I started her on a low dose of the melatonin and worked up to the 3mg, but it did nothing for her (it's never worked on me either). I gave it to her for a while
did she have issues before going on meds? Reason I ask is I have always battle insomnia and DS has had issues with sleep even before we put him on anything for ADHD. When its been real bad I have given him benadryl, I avoid melatonin only because it gives me some crazy dreams and thats another of DS issues we have a bad period of night terrors. We just went back on meds after a summer break and school just started today so will be awhile before I can tell if he is having sleep issues or just not used to new schedule yet. I know mine is 90% anxiety driven, I do take some over the counter stuff but with DS aside from the occasional shot of bendryl I haven't tried anything stronger but I think he also has sleep apniea so thats a totally different issue most likely causing his sleep issues not the ADHD or the medication.
She's never been
My 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago.
