Hi everyone I'm new to the board. My DS was diagnosed this spring with ADHD. He is six and just completed a pretty rough year in kindergarten (sad, I know - kindergarten should be fun!). We have been working with a therapist and trying to find a good med for him. So far we are on Adderall 10 mg 2x day. Not sure yet if it is working. The 7.5 mg 2x day was kind of working so I am hoping this bump will do the trick. He is extremely hyper and impulsive, which are

Welcome to the board! It's a bit slow during the summer months here but will pick up when the school year starts.

Our son also had some rough early years (kicked out of preschool) so I can relate. The hyperness and impulsiveness are what drive me into the ground the most when his medication isn't active.

Give Adderall some time, but also know that it can take trial and error to find just the right medication. When you get the right match, you should have the "wow" factor. Ritalin did that for our son. It really varies with each child.

Good luck!
