than anticipated. Not only is the dyslexia fairly bad but Dillons(6) ADD is off the charts bad- several percentage points below zero- the worst of the worst.

SO it sounds like you will be dealing with ADHD/combined, and Dyslexia. Has the psych recommended any type of treatment or therapy?

Good luck

A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.

Hi..what do you mean by ADHD/combined?

We're talking about potential treatments that will involve medication at some point.

Hi, ADHD combined type, is when there is hyperactivity, and innattentiveness. There can also be other issues, like anger, and it is usually the most severe type.

There are 3 "types" of ADHD, ( there is no ADD)

  • ADHD: predominantly hyperactive-impulsive type
  • ADHD: predominantly inattentive type (sometimes called ADD)
  • ADHD: combined type (displays symptoms of both of the previous types)

Good luck,

They didn't have all this wordage when my ds was diag with ADHD - but I know that he was hyper and impulsive.

Hyper is gone now - due to his maturity - but he can still be impulsive.
