Med question, whats the difference

In Canada, we have 3 options for stimulants. Instant release ritalin, ritalin SR, and dexedrine.

I know the difference between the two ritalins, we opted for the SR, but what is dexedrine and how is it different from ritalin.

Dexedrine is an Amphetamine used to treat ADHD, Narcolepsy & Obesity in which it stimulates nerve cells in the brain. Ritalin is a Methylphenidate used to increase mental alertness in adhd & narcolepsy. They are two completely different drugs that help ADHD symptoms.

My son can't tollerate either one, he gets very, very aggressive & angry. We tried Dexedrine last month & after 2 days he was beyond wild. Took 3 more days to get out of his system. This was just out experience with the two meds. Each child reacts differently.
