Don't forget to make a list of everything!
Find out how much they will interact with your child. Will the psychologist mostly talk with you? Should you son even be at the appointments? Our appointments with a behavioral therapist and psychiatrist tend to me mostly us talking with the doctors, with minimal discussion involving our son. Not a bad thing, but it's good to know what to expect.
Ask specifically whether they can help with the issues that concern you. In our case, it didn't help, so we had to go to the next level and see a psychiatrist about medication. What steps will they advise you to take if their suggestions don't work?
If you have follow up questions after your appointment, who can you reach? Get a direct phone number, even if it's to the doctor's nurse. This is golden. Otherwise, it can take forever to get a call back if you're stuck in a general call center/office.
The meeting went well...the Dr. Seemd very nice ( not the Dr christopher will necessaruly see..he is the head of the practice)....we talked for nearly 30 min. Not a rushed atmosphere at all. PS ~~>>> somone explain to me why all these types of Drs ahve leather couches..LMAO...anyway....we talked about all my concerns...what I need DS to "wrok on" per say.
Great! So glad it went well.
