Month One down on my son's med's

Well we have made it through the first month of meds and what a wonderful month it has been. Trevor is still the same sweet energetic little 5 year old we all know and love but you can clearly tell that he's more focused and happy. Even DH who didn't want to medicate our son agrees that it's for the best now.

We had a parent/teacher meeting this afternoon with Trevor's pre-k teacher and she told us that she would be the first to admit that she didn't think that Daytrana would do anything for Trevor, but that she was dead wrong. Where he had just beginning marks on his progress report before Christmas in the area of social developement, he now has at expected level or above expected level on his social skills and his intellectual skills are through the roof...keep in mind that we held him back in Pre-K this year because of what we thought were maturity issues with him being a late summer birthday. She said that he is by far her best student and she can tell that he is happier and more focused. Where he was sitting out of fun stuff all day everyday before Christmas break....these past two weeks he has only sat out once for talking to his friend instead of listening to a story

Congratulations! Isn't it awesome when you find the right medication? I know I felt like screaming to every parent with a child with ADHD to just give medication a try once we saw first-hand the results. It has totally transformed our son's world.

So glad to hear you have found just the right medication on the first try. Best wishes!

Congratulations! Like the other poster said - it is amazing when you find the right medication. It's like I have my son back, if that makes any sense. It totally turned his life around.
