I bet the dad chills out. But if there is a problem the court can include in its order that your son be on his meds and then the ex cannot make accusations about you. It is not hard to get done even if you do not have a lawyer. how old is your son? does he get along with his dad?>

I wasn't given a choice. The courts decided awhile back.

I think you should continue the meds. do you wish you had full custody?

Hi, my son only sees his dad twice a month, due to his work schedule. My son has been tested and they haven't found any learning disabilities. His father just thinks i am jumping the gun.

Is your son school age? Your ex sounds like he dont want to know the right information. If he has joint custody he can get info directly from the doctor. The good part is the courts favor meds if the kids need them and you won;t have no problem. You were saying he only gets him twice a months. Are you wanting him to get the son more or is he just being selfish? Does your son have any learning disabilities?

Please reply and I can share with you I think a similar situation and how it was handled.

I have physical custody, but we have joint legal custody. I don't have the time or money (lawyer) to fight this out in court. I just feel like ignoring his father's request for the doctor's info, and see what happens. He can take me to court, and I know I would win.

No because you have legal custody of your son the doctor cannot refuse treatment. Have you considered getting a court order that you can make all medical decision for your son and then the dad has to abide by your wishes when he has visitation? Email me and we will talk some more

HI, and welcome

As far as I know he cannot. IS he refusing to give meds on the weekends when he has him? If so, no problem, lots of kids, mine included do not take meds on Non school days.

I would mention the the Psych beforehand that he wants to speak with him, and if necessaey have another eval done. I would also try to explain to him that he needs the meds, in the same way

A child may HAVE ADHD, but it is not what they ARE. Never tell a child they ARE ADHD.
